Bridging the gap between qualification and impact
A master’s degree in public health equips graduates with theoretical knowledge and analytical frameworks. But applying that knowledge in under-resourced health systems, navigating complex policy environments, and building the confidence to lead research — that requires something more.
Our mentorship programme is designed for early-career researchers and professionals working in public health settings across service provision, policy, and advocacy. The mentoring process is led by the needs of the mentee, with both parties committing to a reciprocal, structured partnership.
The programme is entirely free. There are no fees to apply, participate, or access our online resources.

You’re ready to go further
- Working in a low-to-middle-income country
- Hold a master’s degree in public health, health management, monitoring & evaluation, or health promotion
- Seeking support with technical work — research planning, intervention evaluation, or policy development
- Looking for career guidance and personal development support
- Willing to commit to the mentoring process for ~6 months
Share what you know
- Minimum three years’ post-qualification experience in a field relevant to public health
- Relevant qualifications and demonstrable continuing professional development (CPD)
- Enthusiasm for supporting early-career professionals in the Global South
- Willingness to give approximately 1–2 hours per month online
- Open to mentors from any country — experience and commitment matter most

Complete self-assessment
Answer a set of self-assessment questions that help us understand your expertise, goals, and areas where you would most benefit from support or can offer guidance.
Get matched by our team
The Peoples-Praxis team reviews profiles carefully and proposes a mentor-mentee match based on professional backgrounds, interests, and stated areas of need.
Receive your match notification
Both parties are notified by email with information about their proposed match. You have the opportunity to review the profile before confirming.
Arrange your first meeting
Connect online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. The initial meeting is about building rapport, discussing expectations, and beginning to understand each other’s contexts.
Agree your goals & objectives
Together, you agree a set of goals and a mentoring agreement that will guide your sessions. The frequency and format of meetings is determined collaboratively.
Access resources & community
Throughout your partnership, both mentors and mentees can access free online courses, mentoring guidance resources, and connect with country groups through the platform.
Earn your completion certificate
On meeting your agreed objectives, both the mentor and mentee receive a certificate. For mentors, this is directly applicable to CPD portfolios.
